Concrete Anti-Slip
Texturing

Create precise, consistent anti-slip texture profiles on concrete floors, ramps, step nosings, and tile surfaces — no mechanical grinding, no surface weakening, measurable slip resistance results.

Slippery concrete floors, ramps, and step nosings are a significant liability risk in industrial, commercial, and public environments — particularly where wet concrete can become dangerous. The challenge is creating effective anti-slip texture without weakening the concrete or disrupting operations.

Our laser texturing service creates a controlled micro-profile in the concrete surface. Rapid pulsed laser energy ablates a uniform pattern of micro-pits and ridges that dramatically increases surface friction and drainage — reducing slip risk to compliant levels while leaving the surrounding surface and any existing coatings undisturbed.

Unlike grinding, scarifying, or acid etching, laser texturing is a dry process with no waste slurry, no chemical runoff, and no noise above conversational levels. We work in occupied facilities during business hours. The treated surface is clean, dry, and immediately usable — no curing time required.

Applications

  • Industrial floor ramps
  • Step nosings & leading edges
  • Loading dock surfaces
  • Wet area floors & bathrooms
  • Multi-storey car park ramps
  • Public walkways & footpaths
  • Retail & commercial entrances
  • School & hospital corridors
Why laser for concrete texturing

Precision slip resistance
without grinding

Precise, repeatable profile
Mechanical grinding and bush-hammering produce irregular surface profiles that vary by operator and tool wear. Laser texturing delivers the same micro-profile across the entire surface every time — consistent slip resistance from edge to edge.
No material removal beyond the surface
Mechanical grinding weakens concrete by removing material below the surface. Laser texturing ablates a controlled micro-texture into the top layer only — structural integrity is not affected.
Measurable results
Slip resistance can be specified by pendulum test value (PTV) target. Laser power and pass parameters are adjusted to achieve the specified profile — and results are verifiable with standard test equipment.
Works on existing coatings
Laser texturing can be applied to existing concrete sealers, epoxy coatings, and painted surfaces without stripping — creating an anti-slip profile in the coating layer itself, not just bare concrete.
